‘Master of Folding’ Hwang Hee-Chan’s equalizer against Newcastle nominated for EPL Goal of the Month

South Korean striker Hwang Hee-chan, 27, who plays for Wolverhampton in the English Premier League (EPL), has been nominated for EPL Goal of the Month.

The EPL announced on its website on Wednesday (October 3) the eight nominees for the best goal of the month, including Hwang’s equalizer against Newcastle United.

Hwang scored the equalizer in the 26th minute of the 10th round home match of the 2023-24 EPL on Oct. 29, rallying from a 1-2 deficit to earn a 2-2 draw with Newcastle.

In the match, Hwang displayed a difficult technique, folding with his left foot inside the penalty box, deflecting a tackle from an opposing defender and then shooting with his left foot again. “Hwang scored a high-level equalizer to save his team,” said the BBC at the time.

Hwang’s goal is up against the likes of Diogo Dalot’s (Manchester United) goal between Manchester United and Sheffield United and Brian Mbemo’s (Brentford) goal between Brentford and Burnley. 무지개토토 도메인

If Hwang wins Goal of the Month, it will be his first individual award since joining the EPL in 2021.

Hwang has been in fine form this season, scoring six goals in 10 games, including goals in all five home matches.

Meanwhile, Hwang and Son Heung-min (31-Tottenham), who both scored two goals and provided one assist in October, failed to make the expected EPL Player of the Month nominations.
