Ahead of the national soccer team’s upcoming European A match in September, Klinsmann-led coach Michael Kim (Korean name Kim Young-min) will step down from his position and technical advisor Cha Doo-ri will become the new coach.스포츠토토
An official from the Korea Football Association said today (Aug. 31), “There have been discussions about the national team coaching staff since August,” adding, “It has now been sorted out to a certain extent and we will soon announce the reorganization of the national team coaching staff once the process is complete.”
This means that Michael Kim, who has been with the national team since August 2018 when he took over from Paulo Bento, will part ways with the national team and will be replaced by a technical advisor. After Klinsmann unexpectedly offered Kim a scouting position, the coach, who wanted to continue his coaching career, declined and decided to leave the national team, with technical advisor Chaduri taking over.
“It is absolutely not the case that Coach Michael Kim is leaving the national team because he has personal problems,” said an association official.

Chaduri, who is fluent in German and close to Klinsmann, was initially expected to stay with the team until the Asian Cup next January, but if he is named coach in the coaching staff reshuffle, his time with the team could be extended.
It will be interesting to see how this decision plays out, as Klinsmann has yet to win a game since taking over, drawing two and losing two in four matches, and has recently been embroiled in a “work-from-home” controversy that has seen him stay mostly out of the country.
The squad will convene at Incheon Airport on September 4 and depart for England, where they will play two friendlies against Wales and Saudi Arabia.
